Children are being encouraged to get active in Polegate this summer.
A free activity day’s being held this Friday (5 August) at Wannock Road Recreation Ground between 10am-2pm. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
"This year we are encouraging children of all ages to have a go at some of the different sports already on offer in the Wealden area," said Councillor Claire Dowling, Cabinet member for Public Health and Community Safety.
"Organised sport can provide many youngsters with an opportunity to shine, particularly if is not usually played in the playground. Our sports taster sessions include jiu jitsu, cricket, tennis, hockey, karate, dance and rugby."
Wealden’s Summer Activity days are just some of the many events taking place up and down the country as part of Play Day 2016, to emphasise the importance of organised play in children’s lives both for the social development and the physical health of future generations.
