Pupils and staff at the newly named St Catherine’s College in Eastbourne were delighted to welcome West End singer and performer, Tabitha Webb, into school to work with choir members on a new piece she has written.
Tabitha is a classical singer and musical theatre star, with numerous radio and TV performances under her belt. She is also an ambassador for the Christian charity, Interserve, and it was in this capacity that she visited the Eastbourne school formerly known as Bishop Bell.
Tabitha is heading up the Love Changes Everything event, the Interserve campaign for 2016/17. She has written a song especially for the country-wide concerts and has chosen pupils at St Catherine’s College to sing with her at the Eastbourne event in November.
Mark Talbot, Headteacher at St Catherine’s College, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for our choir students to learn from a performer of the highest calibre. They are very excited and honoured to have been chosen to sing at the event later in the year and thoroughly enjoyed the time they have already spent with Tabitha.”
Tabitha has captivated audiences with roles in Phantom of the Opera, Chess and Les Misérables, a role which also saw her star alongside Hugh Jackman in the film version.
Interserve is an international, non-denominational Christian mission organisation which has been serving across South Asia and the Arab world for 160 years.
