A pensioner’s died in a crash at East Dean.
The 76-year-old’s Volkswagen Polo was in a collision with a black Land Rover Discovery on Warren Hill at 11.34am yesterday morning (2 August).
The elderly lady from Seaford was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Land Rover, a 43-year-old man from Friston, was taken to Eastbourne DGH to be treated for his injuries, along with his four passengers – a 40-year-old woman, a 17-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl.
The road was shut for several hours to allow for investigation work and for the scene to be cleared. The East Sussex coroner has been informed.
