ACAS Talks Continue Today

Talks continue at ACAS today (4 August) between Govia Thameslink Railway and the RMT Union, to try and stop 5-days of strike action, due to start on Monday (8 August).

The two have been locked in a bitter row over the introduction of driver-only trains for months, with commuters at Eastbourne Railway Station bearing the brunt, with cancellations of trains, industrial action and delays.

Should the walkout go ahead, Southern say up to a third of services on the emergency timetable could be stopped to cope.

If next week’s strike is to be averted, the RMT must call it off by lunchtime.
