World renowned team, the Red Arrows will be taking time out of their busy flying schedule next week to meet fans on the ground at Airbourne: Eastbourne International Air Show, voted best free air show in the UK.
The free show, which runs from 11 – 14 August, will welcome the famous elite team on Friday at 2.30pm, shortly after their flying display, with autographs and photo opportunities from their unit in the Tri-Service exhibition zone.
Fans can also look forward to an array of fast jets and historic warbirds over the four days including the sky scraping Typhoon, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the world’s only flying Blenheim bomber and WW1 aerobatics from the Great War Display Team.
The B-17 ‘Sally B’ brings a long awaited return to the show after 15 years, with a poignant and rumbling performance on Saturday, as the last remaining flying fortress in Europe.
The Blades, Breitling Wingwalkers, Jet Provost duo, Mustang, Spitfire and The Tigers Parachute Display Team also return, while Team Raven bring a new display to Eastbourne featuring a mix of RV-4 and RV-8 aircraft and the Sea Vixen makes its first appearance at the show.
Flying the international flag, the B-25 Mitchell Bomber makes its first ever appearance from the Royal Netherlands Air Force Historical Flight, along with an Airbourne debut from the Belgian Bronco and the return of the Norwegian Air Force Historical Squadron Vampires and MiG 15.
Eastbourne Borough Council Director of Tourism and Enterprise, Phil Evans said “Airbourne has always provided an excellent mix of fast jet precision, with jaw-dropping aerobatic fun and remarkable historical tributes, and this year is no exception. I am delighted to see a tribute to our magnificent pioneering WW1 aviators, along with the chance to meet our modern day heroes from the Red Arrows too.”
