Eastbourne MP Caroline Ansell recently spent a night out with the Eastbourne Street Pastors team.
The Christian organisation helps people who are out and about the streets late on Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm to 4am and are based at Speak Life Centre in Lismore Road.
They give out lollies, flip-flops and water, and help people get cabs, point them in the right direction, and just generally look out for people.
Caroline said, “The last time I met with the Street Pastors, I took a special guest – the now Prime Minister Theresa May, so it was good to catch up with the team who do such a fantastic job helping people out for the night.
“I stepped out with them around the midnight hour to meet people out and about in the bars and clubs. The Street Pastors were clearly very well known, were very well received all-round and it was great to see their partnership working with publicans, doormen and the Police to keep people safe.”
