Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Caroline Ansell has supported the opening of a new charity shop in the town that will raise funds to help families in Sussex.
Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, Peter Field, opened the Family Support Work shop in Cornfield Road last week and the Rt. Revd Richard Jackson, Bishop of Lewes, blessed the enterprise.
The charity helps families and children from all walks of life who are referred to it by GPs, health visitors, schools, churches, social services and other voluntary bodies.
“It was a real pleasure to visit the shop opening and meet some of the staff and to hear the charity has recently appointed a family support worker in the borough,” said Caroline,
“FSW do very important work helping families through practical and emotional support over the long term which does much to help people avoid getting into crisis situations while allowing children to reach their full potential.
“I’m sure the new shop will be a great success.”
