We’re being invited to find out more about osteoporosis in Eastbourne.
Osteoporosis - a condition that affects one in two women and one in five men over the age of 50 - is the fragile bone disease that causes painful, debilitating and sometimes fatal fractures, particularly of the wrist, hip and spine.
Rheumatologist consultant Dr Sam Panthakalam will visit the National Osteoporosis Society’s Eastbourne and district Support Group for a talk on the condition which affects almost 3million people in the UK.
The event - titled Osteoporosis: are you at risk? - is open to anyone interested in finding out more about the condition.
Presentations will include drug treatments, exercise for bone health, healthy eating and pain management.
The session is free, although you will need to book your place by emailing Stella Scrivener on S.Scrivener@nos.org.uk or calling 07515 574780.
The event will take place on September 17 from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Hardwick Room, International Lawn Tennis Centre, Devonshire Park.
