Nearly £200 has been added to the pot for Eastbourne’s Mayor, Cllr Pat Hearn’s, chosen charities.
The money was raised at the Hampden Park Fun Day at a stall which allowed everyone to win a prize, with over 200 cuddly toys up for grabs.
The stall was so successful, Councillor Hearn is now on the hunt for more cuddly toys for the next event, which is this Saturday (3 September), at Shinewater. The Mayor is also collecting toys ready for the Hampden Park Community Association Christmas Fayre on 3 December.
Anyone with unwanted toys or cuddly toys, which are in good condition, are being asked to leave them at Eastbourne Town Hall for the Mayor’s attention, or taken them to the Shinewater event. Alternatively, if you are unable to drop them off, you’re asked to call 01323 509196 and a volunteer will arrange to collect them from you.
All money raised through the sale of the toys will go to the Mayor’s charities, Rufuge and The Duke of Edinburgh Eastbourne Open Award Centre.
