If you struggle with all things digital, Alfriston is the place to be.
On Wednesday 14 September, Wealden District Council will be bringing their popular Coffee, Cakes, Computers and a Whole Lot More! digital skills event to the Deans Place.
This event is free and runs from 10am to 12pm. It is for anyone interested in developing their computer skills or wanting help to get online.
“The Coffee, Cakes, Computers and a Whole Lot More! events that we have held so far have been a tremendous success with nearly 150 people getting help and guidance with computers and the internet,” said Councillor Nick Collinson, Portfolio Holder for Community Leadership.
“Being able to use the internet is an essential skill and these events are a great, informal way to get some friendly expert advice on this over a hot drink and a slice of cake.
“Everyone is welcome, no matter what your level of ability, and there’s no need to book, just drop in. If you’ve got a laptop or tablet that you’d like to bring along, please do. But if not, then don’t worry – there will be some tablets available to use on the day. Don’t forget to tell and friends or family members who would benefit from the event about it too – the more the merrier!”
Attendees at the previous Coffee, Cakes, Computers and a Whole Lot More event described it as “very informative” and “confidence building” and that it “empowers me with knowledge that I can manage to use a computer.” One attendee said “My helper taught me how to use my new tablet; and her teaching skills were excellent. She gave me confidence and explained well at a level I could understand.”
