A crash has completely shut the A27 between Polegate and Lewes this morning (30 April).
Emergency services were called to Selmeston, west of the Drusillas roundabout, after two cars, a Vauxhall Astra and a Dacia, collided just before 11am.
It is reported at this time that there are two people with minor injuries. The driver of one of the cars is being cut out by firefighters and is thought to have suffered serious injuries. There are no further details at this time.
As a result, there is is serious congestion in the area with traffic being diverted on to the A26 and A22.
The road is now re-open (12.42pm) but there is heavy congetion in the area.
