Dr David Walker has taken up his new role as Medical Director at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
Dr Walker is an experienced and much respected Consultant Cardiologist. He is currently Vice President British Cardiovascular Society and a member of the Board of the ACCA at the European Society of Cardiology. He was the national clinical lead for heart failure 2007-13.
Dr David Walker ESHT Medical Director said, “I am extremely pleased to be taking on this role. I look forward to working with colleagues and external partners to progress the Trust’s vision to combine community and hospital services to provide safe, compassionate, and high quality care for our patients.”

The Medical Director is the most senior medical position in an NHS Trust providing clinical leadership. The Trust’s Medical Director also provides the link between all doctors and the Board to drive forward continued improvements in the quality of patient care and safety as well as overseeing the planning of the Trust’s medical workforce to deliver better access to care.
