Plans for hundreds of new homes on the boundary of Willingdon and Hampden Park have been deferred.

Planners at Wealden District Council have met this morning (15 September) to discuss proposals for Brodricklands and Hamlands Farm and after hearing evidence both for and against the developments have chosen to reject the officer’s recommendation that the plans be approved.

Councillors have voted to defer the application until next month, by which time they aim to have completed a site visits to obtain a better understanding of the area, including the flood risk and the impact on neighbouring Eastbourne as highlighted by those against the plans.
