A TV comedian will be the headline act at a comedy night in Eastbourne next month (Saturday 15 October), which is raising funds for the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance.
James Dowdeswell, from BBC’s Russell Howard’s Good News, has also appeared on Celebrity Deal or No Deal with Jimmy Carr, Ricky Gervais’ Extras and Greatest Olympic Moments.
He will be appearing at the Strand Hotel, also known as the Hilton Royal Parade Hotel, alongside 2013 BBC New Comedy Award semi-finalist Jake Lambert, and Brighton based up-and-coming talent Josh Dillon.
Jake was also a runner-up in Reading Comedy Festival’s New Act Competition and is described as “an abundance of quick puns, clever wordplay, strange thoughts and short stories”.
Josh delivers wry observational comedy with a deadpan style based on real life and personal experiences as a probation officer.
The comedy night in aid of the air ambulance is being organised by Eastbourne-based entertainer Jim Grant of OiOi Comedy.
Jim is a professional stand-up comedian who regularly plays at top London clubs, has presented shows on Sky TV and made several appearances on BBC Radio.
He said: “I spend many an hour driving the length and breadth of the country so I’m only too well aware of how many road accidents the air ambulance is called to.”
James and Jake have previously appeared at the Senlac in Battle and will be at the Strand Hotel on Royal Parade, on Saturday 15 October, when doors open at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10, or £12 on the night, and can be booked online.
