Some parents will be keeping their children off school in Eastbourne today (3 May).
They’re protesting against SATs for Year 2 pupils and are joining in with the Let Our Kids Be Kids campaign.
Several events are planned around the town, where mums and dads are opting for other activities for their children for the day. Some are going for a “fun day in the woods”, whilst others will be “planting and learning about food”.
Many parents are angry that 6 and 7-year-olds are being tested in exam conditions to assess their ability in English and Maths. More than 41,000 people nationwide have signed a petition, showing support for the campaign.
If you are keeping your child off school today, let us know.
