Sussex Police are not planning to up armed patrols across the county.

It comes after both Kent and Essex Police confirmed yesterday (19 September) that they are putting extra armed officers in place in their counties.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said, “We already have firearms officers out across the county as part of routine patrols. We are not going into further details for operational reasons.

“We also deploy resources to certain events based on a threat and risk assessment.”
