Eastbourne Bandstand is celebrating a significant rise in attendance at their unbeatable range of shows this year, with a growth of 19% at the Kids Party Nights and a 15% rise in ticket sales this year.
The iconic seafront venue has showcased acts ranging from bestsellers Queen, Abba and Jersey Boys to modern One Direction and Bruno Mars tribute nights. Young audiences also filled the dance floor at their Kids Party Nights, their latest claim to success.
Eastbourne Bandstand believes the commendable rise in success is due to their affordable prices, scenic outdoor venue, extensive list of acts and Eastbourne’s continuous sunshine.
Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Enterprise, Cllr Margaret Bannister said “This has been an outstanding year, not just in audience attendance but in the quality of shows on offer. It’s wonderful to see the growth in our younger visitors, introducing new generations to the Bandstand. If you haven’t made it yet, it’s not too late, there’s still a few concerts left to see, including our firework finale on 30 September.”
With a few dates remaining, tonight (23 September), the iconic Jersey Boys Tribute night returns, performed by The Ragdolls. The show promises to take you on a musical journey through the well-known career of one of the most successful bands of all time, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The bestselling night features “Sherry”, “Walk Like a Man” and “Oh What a Night” amongst others.
The musical showcase continues across the weekend with the Traditional Afternoon Concert on 25 September. The concert will have music from brass, concert and silver bands to play out your Sunday afternoon.
The spectacular 1812 Firework Concert Night is celebrated for the final time this season on 28 September. The iconic tradition which is enjoyed every Wednesday consists of a breathtaking firework display, in an evening of concert music by Sussex Brass, ending with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture.
To draw the successful season to a close, The Rocky Horror Tribute Show takes place on 30 September. The finale features a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the music and spirit of The Rocky Horror Show with a touch of Meatloaf and fireworks.
