The A27 is to be fully closed around Polegate tonight (24 September), to allow for emergency repair work to be carried out.
Highways England will be shutting the road in both directions between Cophall Roundabout and Pevensey between 8pm and 6am. Diversions via the A259, A2290, A2280 and A2270 will be signed.
The damage was caused by work to install utility connections underneath the road.
Lane closures have been in place since Thursday (22 September) due to the damage caused. Lane two remains closed on the eastbound and approach to Jubilee roundabout along with an inside lane of the roundabout junction itself. Lane two of the Jubilee roundabout onto the A22 is also closed along with a lane closure on the A22 heading towards Dittons roundabout.
