We’re being encouraged to join the Eastbourne Speedwatch team.
The call’s coming from MP, Caroline Ansell.
Sergeant Julian Williams is organising the community scheme aiming to cut speeding by drivers in the constituency and need volunteers who will be given training.
“This is an extremely worthwhile initiative that is really making a difference in communities and if anyone has any spare time then please get in touch with Sgt Williams,” said Caroline.
“Speeding is a major concern for communities both in towns and in the countryside and anything that cuts speed and therefore deaths and injuries on our roads is to be welcomed.”
Speed Watch joins members of the community together with the support of the police to monitor speeds of vehicles using speed detection devices.
Vehicles exceeding the speed limit are referred to the police with the aim of educating drivers to reduce their speeds.
