Eastbourne Man Charged With Driving Offences

A man has been charged with driving offences after he allegedly hit two police cars in Eastbourne.
Daniel Stephen Jones, 29, of Langney Road, Eastbourne, was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously, driving a motor vehicle without a licence and using a motor vehicle without insurance in Eastbourne on Wednesday (4 May).
He has been bailed and will appear at Hastings Magistrates' Court on 8 May.
Jones is accused of driving off at speed from an unmarked police vehicle in Cavendish Road at 12.40pm. He then allegedly reversed back and hit that vehicle. As a marked police vehicle approached, he then reportedly reversed and drove towards that vehicle, colliding with its bumper. He then made off and was arrested.
An officer suffered a minor injury to his leg.
