Both the MPs for Eastbourne and Polegate have presented petitions to Parliament, calling for better pension rights for women.
Caroline Ansell and Maria Caulfield have been working with the Women Against State Pension Inequality group, which is calling for the Government to make fairer pension arrangements for women born in the 1950s.
Maria said, “I was very pleased to be able to again represent the views of my constituents by presenting the WASPI petition to parliament on Tuesday evening (11 October).
“I would like to thank the hundreds of women who signed this petition, and by so doing added their voices to the thousands accumulated by my parliamentary colleagues, ensuring that a strong voice is put forward to the Department for Work & Pensions on this issue.
“I will continue to campaign on this issue on behalf of my constituents, and look forward to continuing my work alongside local WASPI campaigners.”
