Eastbourne commuters are to get a reprieve from strike action on the trains.
Following a request from the British Legion, the RMT Union has agreed to suspend strike action, which was planned for 3 November in the ongoing row over the future of conductors on Southern trains.
General Secretary Mick Cash said, “This decision has been made after close consideration and following a personal request from the British Legion. The union recognises the very special importance of that particular day and as result has agreed to suspend the action planned for 3 November. The rest of the scheduled action goes ahead as planned.”
Strike action for 4-5 November is still expected to go ahead as originally proposed.
