The Eastbourne Eagles will seek to defend a 13-point lead at Birmingham tonight (26 October) and clinch their first speedway league title since 2000.
They built up the advantage in the home leg of the National League Grand Final and expect to come under fierce pressure from the Second City club right from the off.
A week ago, the IT First Eagles pegged the Brummies to a six-point lead in the Knock Out Cup first leg. The same again will make the Eagles champions.
Connor Dugard, team manager, said, “We are very much taking it one race at a time. This tie is very much alive.
“We did a huge amount of hard work last Sunday and now we are all fired up to finish the job. We know it won’t be easy.”
Georgie Wood is unavailable because his partner is having a baby. Nathan Stoneman comes in as a guest replacement at No 4.
Dugard has also shuffled the riding order with captain Jake Knight moving to No 3 with Ellis Perks switching to the No 5 race-jacket.
Perks rode last year for Cradley Heathens, who used Birmingham’s Perry Bar track.
