We’re being encouraged to find out more about the Rotary Club in Eastbourne this weekend as their conference comes to town.
The Rotary Showcase, registration and tea is open to the public today (28 October) at 3.30pm – 5pm and tomorrow (29 October) 10am – 5pm. Engage with the Rotary and see how the generous donations that they gratefully receive are spent, and be amazed by what the club has achieved.
Rotary South East has the enviable reputation of being one of the best organised of all the District Conferences in the UK. With their emphasis on the weekend being to have fun, meet new people and learn how to give back to the community.
Exhibitors from the charities and organisations that benefit from Rotary donations will be attending The Showcase. Meet the faces behind Eastbourne Epilepsy, Born Free Foundation and Parkinsons UK and see how the Rotary contributes to local and national organisations in need. Blood Donors vehicles and Canine Partners will also be on site amongst many others.
Eastbourne Borough Council Director for Tourism and Enterprise, Phil Evans said, “Rotary District 1120 contributes hugely to Eastbourne’s community and surrounding areas. Their hard work helps to transform the wellbeing of many charities and organisations, and it is clear to see that being a member is extremely rewarding.
“Don’t miss this opportunity to attend The Showcase for an insightful day of fun and socialising, you may walk away a Rotarian!”
Gala dinners and social lunches are just a few of the benefits of being a Rotarian, in exchange for hard work and dedication. Last year’s programme included a Golf Tournament and Black Tie Banquet and Ball amongst other exciting events.
The Rotary Conference will be taking place in the Congress Theatre from 28 October to 30 October, with 600 delegates; this is not open to the public however they can attend The Showcase to learn more. The Showcase will be held in the Congress Suite and First Floor Congress Theatre Foyer.
