An Eastbourne lake is boasting a healthier swan population today (3 November).
East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service yesterday released 11 cygnets at Princes Park, where they’ve joined a non-territorial flock of swans.
With several birds having been sent to the Swan Sanctuary in Shepperton for specialist veterinary care this year, from places like Hampden Park, it was felt it was time to re-address the balance.
The new arrivals in Eastbourne will eventually find themselves mates and fly off to establish their own territories when they’re old enough.
