The latest round of strike action by Southern conductors with the RMT Union hits commuters in Eastbourne today (4 November).
They’re walking out in their ongoing dispute with the rail company over the future of guards on the trains.
Whilst Southern are pledging to run more trains during the industrial action, villages like Pevensey Bay and Normans Bay will be without public transport, as no trains are running from Eastbourne to Hastings and bus replacement services, won’t be operating in those areas.
Commuters heading to Pevensey and Westham, Bexhill or Hastings will be able to get a bus and a reduced train service will be in operation from Eastbourne to Brighton.
Yesterday, the RMT announced further strike action over Christmas and New Year.
