An Eastbourne school’s been awarded £150 from the town’s Lions Club.
St John’s Meads C of E Primary was given the prize for receiving the highest mark at the Safety In Action event, held at the Devonshire Park Centre last month.
The event was hosted by Eastbourne Borough Council and was organised by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, with the help of Sussex Downs College and the Lions Club of Eastbourne.
Alec Stephens the Lions community services chairman said, “We are delighted to be part of this activity, which teaches children learning lifesaving skills through participation including first aid, road and railway safety and alcohol awareness.”
Over 850 primary school children from schools in the Eastbourne area took part in the event.
