Travellers have arrived in Eastbourne.
Seven parked up on King Edward’s Parade yesterday evening (9 May). Sussex Police have spoken to the occupants, who said they had travelled from Hastings.
A spokesperson for Eastbourne Borough Council said:
“We attended King Edward’s Parade yesterday (Monday) evening following reports of a group of travellers on a grass verge.
“Council officers and police spoke to the travellers. We are working with police and East Sussex County Council’s Traveller Liaison Team to resolve the situation as swiftly as possible.
“A notice was served on the travellers at noon today (Tuesday) giving them 24 hours to leave. We will closely monitor the situation with our partners.
