The future of the South Downs is to be discussed in Eastbourne tonight (22 November).
Following last week’s protest, the Keep Our Downs Public group is to meet with the leader of the Borough Council at Town Hall at 6.45pm.
The group is concerned about the potential sale of farmland on the Downs, fearing it could open the door to development. They also believe the public should have been consulted about the matter.
The Council has previously stated that any change in the freehold would not result in a change of use on the land.
