Once again The British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra comes to the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne, presenting a festive evening of sparkling Strauss waltzes, Christmas music and songs from Vienna in A Viennese Strauss Christmas Gala, Friday 16 December.

Presented by Radio 4’s The Archers Malcolm Mckee, whisking the evening along with funny Christmas stories and anecdotes, this annual concert which brings a flavour of Christmas in Vienna to Eastbourne is sure to get your festive celebrations off to a flying start.

A Festive evening of music from the great Viennese composer Strauss, with a selection of timeless waltzes, songs and tunes including; The Blue Danube, Merry Widow Overture, Radetsky March and many more to waltz the night away.

All spiced up with uproarious renditions from the great Viennese composers Lehar, Kalman, Romberg, Stolz including numbers from; The White Horse Inn, The New Moon, The Student Prince, Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, The Gypsy Baron and many more.

Of course, no Christmas concert would be complete without a burst of traditional Christmas music, with a wonderful selection of carols including; Silent Night, Jingle Bells, O Christmas Tree, Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire.

Conductor Anthony Kraus, Leader Emily Chaplais and soloists, Marilyn Hill Smith (the Queen of Operetta), International Tenor Andrew Forbes Lane and Jeremy Peaker (Opera North) perform in this wonderfully jovial concert.
