With Christmas just a few days away, we’re being warned not to fall for any scams landing on our doorstep.
Staff at Eastbourne’s Post Office Delivery Office are seeing several hoax cards, which claim parcels are waiting to be delivered, which could turn out to be a very costly phone call.
Tim Hill Delivery Office Manager said, “We do get what we call scam mail. People may well get dockets left through their door saying they’ve got a parcel waiting for them and asking them to ring a number. If they call that number, they may well find themselves being charged a premium rate. So please if you do get a card that’s not from Royal Mail or a recognised delivery company, please don’t ring that number.”
