We’re being urged to take up a free home safety visit from the fire service in Eastbourne.

Mark Webb, Station Manager at Eastbourne Fire Station, said, “East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is committed to helping people stay safe in their homes and one of the ways we do this is by carrying out Home Safety Visits. These visits are offered to people who are most at risk from fires and involve our firefighters visiting your home to give you advice on how to reduce the risk of having a fire. If it’s appropriate, they will also fit smoke alarms at no cost to the occupier.

“The crews at Eastbourne are really keen to keep our community safe and by carrying out a Home Safety Visit, we can often prevent a fire from happening in the first place. With Christmas fast approaching, there’s no better time to make sure that your home is as safe as possible so that you can have an enjoyable festive season.”

If you or someone you know would like to find out more, please contact East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service on 0800 177 7069. More information is available online.
