A fox has been rescued after scoring an own goal at Willingdon Primary School this morning (20 December).
Chris from East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service was called at lunchtime and found the animal had managed to entangle itself in netting in the football goal. He covered the animal with a towel to calm him and took him back to their hospital, where the netting was removed.
The male fox is said to be unusually large at 9kg, around the double the size of foxes they usually deal with. He’s said to be well fed, very alert and aware and is currently awaiting the vet to arrive to give him a check up.
