The Eastbourne Eagles have completed their 2017 side with the addition of Adam Extance.
Extance, who missed out on the 2016 season due to a knee injury, is making a comeback to National League Speedway. The ex-motocrosser, who runs experience days with his Dad in Wales, is 'over the moon to be joining a club like Eastbourne.’
Club director Connor Dugard said, "I know Adam had many offers from other clubs and we appreciate that he will be trekking down each week but he says he's up for it and we are willing to give him that chance. He's definitely got ability and hopefully with the help from Dad and everyone else we can get the most out of Adam!"
Adam said, "I've heard so many good things about Eastbourne from, fans to riders and team managers. It seems to be the club to be at. And reading what Adam Ellis had to say about them in the Speedway Star pretty much shows they mean business but want everyone to enjoy themselves at the same time"
Extance, who has many other trades within motorsport whether it be Motocross, Superbikes or even stunt riding, joins the other 6 members in the following riding order:
1 Mark Baseby
2 Kelsey Dugard
3 Connor Coles
4 Adam Extance
5 Georgie Wood
6 Charley Powell
7 Tom Brennan
When asked why has the team been announced all before Christmas Dugard explained, "Usually I leave it quite long and pan it out across the off season, but this year I'm really trying to help the riders gain sponsorship and their hands are tied when they can't announce who they're riding for."
Club management would also like to point out that, "We understand there are riders that fans want to return, but their time has passed and we thank them for their efforts, but it's the current team that need your positive support and we will do our very best to make 2017 another successful and enjoyable year.
“We've got a few things lined up, Adam and his Dad have offered us to some team bonding up their neck of the woods on the experience day and we are also planning on going down to Southern France as a team practicing! The team is solid 1-7 and we are gunning for that league title this year," said Dugard.
