Anyone who has been affected by rail strikes in Eastbourne is being asked to speak up.
Whether it’s a business, which has seen takings drop, or an individual who’s been threatened with the sack, owing to missing days or not being able to get to work on the train, Eastbourne UnLtd Chamber of Commerce wants to hear from you.
They’re gathering information about the ongoing rail strikes, ready to put to the Government in the New Year. Along with the Alliance of Chambers in East Sussex, they’re pushing for a meeting with all the MPs in East Sussex, including the Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, who serves Hastings. The Transport Secretary, Business Secretary and Rail Minister have also been invited to the meeting, which is to be held in Hailsham on 4 January. However, the Chambers have stressed they are happy to meet with the MPs at a different time and place, just as long as the meeting goes ahead.
