The People's Postcode Lottery (PPL), which was first established in 2005, has been praised by Polegate MP, Maria Caulfield, as a major charity fundraiser.
Established as a not for commercial gain organisation, the PPL has donated over £161 million to charities, supporting over 2,800 grassroots groups and projects across the UK, with 30% of each ticket going directly to good causes.
The recognition of the work carried out by the group over the past decade comes ahead of the opening of the next small grants funding round in the New Year, which will provide charitable organisations nationwide with the opportunity to apply for grants of anything between £500 and £20,000.
Commenting, Maria said, “I very much welcome the amazing support that the Peoples Postcode Lottery has provided to charities across the country over the past decade. Charities within my constituency of Lewes are, in many cases totally reliant on donations. Consequently, other avenues of funding, such as the grants offered by the Peoples Postcode Lottery have the ability to make a massive difference.”
