St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Eastbourne has welcomed their 1000th admission since moving into their new home in Broadwater Way.
CEO David Scott-Ralphs commented, “It’s great to have reached this important milestone. The people we support in our inpatient unit often have the most complex symptoms but the skills of our doctors and nurses enable most people to return home after treatment. Our aim is to support even more people in the coming year.”
Dr David Barclay, our Medical Director at the hospice, said, “Having started my time with St Wilfrid’s Hospice at the Mill Gap Road site, it seems remarkable that we have reached this milestone at our new home.
“It remains a privilege to work with such a fantastic team in the inpatient unit, Wellbeing and the community, with such a focus on best patient care. Another great achievement in these past 3 years, in my opinion, is the much closer working with all of our colleagues in health and social care across East Sussex, which is sometimes harder to quantify.”
