UK Power Networks say 1,897 customers were hit by the power cut in Eastbourne this morning (4 January).
The fault was reported at 8.06am, with both homes and businesses left without electricity, but all customers should now have their supply restored.
A spokesperson for UK Power Networks said, “Electricity supplies were rerouted to customers in stages throughout the morning but after this initial work we became aware that customers were still experiencing low volts and interruptions to their supply. Following further work to rectify a fault on the underground cable network we were able to restore the remaining supplies by 12.56pm.
“Our engineers worked hard to resolve the issue as quickly as possible but we appreciate how difficult it is being without electricity and apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused.”
