Eastbourne Borough couldn’t manage the double over Hungerford Town in the National League South yesterday (14 January).
When the two sides last met, Borough walked away with a 0-2 win. However, it was a much tougher battle for The Sports at Priory Lane.
Hungerford opened the scoring just eight minutes in, with two on-target shots denied for Borough just minutes later. Borough were still trailing 0-1 at half time.
A penalty from Nathaniel Pinney in the 51st saw the home team draw level after the break and it was Pinney who put Borough ahead for the first time in the game, with just 10 minutes left on the clock. But Borough were denied the win, with Town pulling level in the dying seconds of the regular time and chances were denied in the three minutes of added time.
The final score Eastbourne Borough 2 – 2 Hungerford Town.
