Commuters in Eastbourne have once again endured strike action today (23 January).
Members of the RMT went ahead with their planned action, after being left out of talks between Southern Rail and the ASLEF union last week. The two parties met to try and find a solution to the ongoing dispute over driver-only operations. Both the RMT and ASLEF feel it compromises passenger safety.
Now, former Eastbourne MP, Stephen Lloyd is encouraging Southern to open up the channels of communication with the RMT in the same way they did for ASLEF.
