Children at Ratton School in Eastbourne have been trying out their green fingers.
Students from Years 7-11, known as the Green Team, have been busy looking after the school allotments. Their Sussex Heritage Apple Orchard is now an established cordon and they’re hoping they can find an Eastbourne Pippin and Brogdale to plant.
The area is also used by Years 7 and 8 for their Maths classes, to explore scale and symmetry. The school also hopes to incorporate more Science into the space.
