Eastbourne’s young carers are being thanked.
There are 210 in the town who are supported by East Sussex Young Carers, to enable them to still find time to be children, as well as looking after loved ones.
An East Sussex County Council spokesman said, "Young Carers play an extremely important but often unsung role and it's great that their efforts are recognised on this day.
"The East Sussex Young Carers service supports children and young people aged five to 18 who are caring for a family member with a long-term illness, disability, mental health or substance misuse issues.
"The service provides one-to-one support for individual Young Carers, 'Chill Clubs' across the county and support groups in schools.
"More information and a referral form are available for families and professionals online.
"The East Sussex Young Carers Hub can be contacted on 0300 777 2011 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
