Landscapes and views, including Eastbourne Pier, are on show at the Towner Art Gallery this weekend (28-29 January).
The free exhibition is being run in aid of the charity, The People Matter Trust, which is celebrating its 20th year of supporting jobseekers in Eastbourne and helping to equip them for employment.
Award-winning artist, Barry Wilson and accomplished photographer, Jonathan Webley, have teamed up for the exhibition, which showcases scenery from around the South Downs.
Barry Wilson's work has been exhibited in major museums and galleries worldwide and he won the Saatchi prize in 2011. Eastbourne-based photographer Jonathan Webley specialises in portraying unusual aspects of the seafront and South Downs, often at first light and the shared passion which the two have for Eastbourne and the South Downs creates a memorable and unmissable exhibition.
People Matter is a specialist charity which has helped over 10,000 jobseekers in Eastbourne and the surrounding area since 1997 by providing a mix of practical, social and emotional support. The extensive range of services and workshops are all free of charge to jobseekers, but expensive to provide and financial support from the local community is crucial to enable us to continue to provide vital and often life changing support to those who are struggling to rebuild their lives through securing employment.
There is also the opportunity to win a Barry Wilson original painting or a stunning picture sized photograph mounted on canvas by Jonathan Webley. The combined value of these two prizes is £2765 and tickets for the raffle, which give you the opportunity to win one of these great prizes is just £5 and admission to the exhibition is free.
