The next phase of a £624,000 upgrade of gas works in Pevensey Bay is due to get underway tomorrow (30 January).
Southern Gas Neworks, with East Sussex Highways, will be working in Coast Road to replace the old gas mains, with the work expected to go on until 17 February.
Temporary traffic lights and road are expected to be in place and Stagecoach say they won’t be able to serve Beachlands whilst the works are taking place, with all services to and from Beachlands, departing from Pevensey Bay Village only.
The service 57 (Willingdon School) will depart from Richmond Road (HSBC) in Pevensey Bay at 7.47am on school days. East Sussex County Council, in conjunction with Cuckmere Buses, will be supplying a shuttle bus service (55B) to serve Beachlands to Pevensey Bay to link with services 55/55A and 99 between 30 January and Friday 3 February. Tickets will be interchangeable between both buses.
