As speculation around this year’s Oscar winners mounts, a Hollywoof hopeful from Dogs Trust Shoreham who spent almost 150 days in kennels has found his leading lady and landed a starring role in someone’s life – in Eastbourne!

Handed over to the Sussex charity after being found as a stray, two-year-old Border Collie, Oscar, was desperate to be a star of a new home. The superstar caught the eye of Mrs Julie Harris who has given Oscar the ‘yappy’ ending he deserves.

New owner, Mrs Julie Harris, said, "When we saw Oscar's film-star looks on Dogs Trust’s website it was clear that he deserved a starring role. He's a great big affectionate boy, he learns fast, and he doesn't always keep to the script! When Oscar’s not demonstrating how talented he is at catching Frisbees, he loves to snuggle up on the sofa. As first time dog owners, he has turned our lives upside down in such a positive way – he is an amazing addition to our family."

Tracey Rae, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Shoreham, said, “Our superstar Oscar has so much love to give and we’re delighted that he has found his “pawfect” match. As the Academy Awards ceremony approaches, we’re appealing to dog lovers in Sussex to give our other loveable residents the big break they deserve. We have plenty of dogs eagerly awaiting a leading lady (or man!) in their lives.”

If you think you could roll out a red carpet to any other Dogs Trust Shoreham residents, please contact the rehoming centre directly on 0300 303 0292 or click here.
