Two late goals denied Eastbourne Borough any points in the National League South last night (21 February).
Away to Maidenhead United, who they had already lost out to once this season, The Sports kept out numerous corner attempts by their hosts in the first half, which ended goalless.
Things looked up for Borough in the second, after a hand ball saw them awarded a penalty, which Miguel Baptista nicely put away, giving Eastbourne the lead.
However, their hosts equalised from close range in the 78th minute. Elliott Romain was denied an on-target a few minutes later and the Maidenhead pulled ahead in the dying seconds of the game.
The final score, Maidenhead United 2 – 1 Eastbourne Borough.
