Harsh words from Eastbourne United’s manager following their defeat to Worthing United in the SCFL Premier yesterday (25 February).
Eastbourne, who have been eyeing up promotion this season, should have been clear favourites, having already defeated their opponents 3-0 earlier in the campaign and Worthing are struggling at the bottom of the table.
However, Eastbourne found themselves 2-0 down at Lyons Way as the clock ticked down. A late goal in added time from Tyler O’Callaghan was the only consolation at the final whistle, which saw the score, Worthing United 2 – 1 Eastbourne United.
Eastbourne manager Tobi Hutchinson has taken to Twitter to say, “Quite simply the worst performance I’ve seen in my 18 months as manager of Eastbourne United. Apologies to all of you that travelled and witnessed it. Unacceptable levels from pretty much every single player. It’s not often I feel they let themselves down, but today they did.”
