Could Eastbourne be about to get some new volleyball courts?
Planners on the Borough Council are to look into the idea on Wednesday (1 March) when an application will be up for discussion.
It’s being proposed to build three courts on the beach near to the Redoubt Fortress. The plans have been met with objection by Heritage England, who are mindful of how close the development would be to the historic fort.
The Council has also received a petition against the plans by neighbouring businesses on the seafront and ten letters of objection.
However, planners are recommended to grant conditional permission – being a five year temporary approval to keep impacts of the proposal under review.
