Eastbourne Police Investigate Possible Cycle Thefts

If you’ve had a bicycle stolen in Eastbourne, police want to hear from you.

Officers are investigating possible thefts from the town centre between 7.30pm on Sunday (15 May) and 3.30am on Monday (16 May).

PC Ruth Parnell-Mace said; "If your bicycle was stolen in Eastbourne during the night of 15-16 May, please get in touch. We would like to find out if these bikes are stolen, and if so return them to the rightful owners."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 88 of 16/05. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers free on 0800 555 111.

At 3.3am on Monday (16 May) patrolling police officers arrested three people on suspicion of the theft of three bicycles and seized the bikes.

An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, both from St Leonards, were arrested on suspicion of theft and have been bailed until 21 June pending further enquiries.i

A 17-year-old boy from St Leonards was also arrested on suspicion of theft and has been bailed untl 1 July.
