Police are working to determine if a car that went over Beachy Head and body found the same day are connected.
The car, which was white, is thought to have gone over the cliffs near Peace Path on Monday afternoon or evening (27 February) and was discovered just before 11am yesterday.
Police, fire and rescue personnel and HM Coastguard attended the scene, with support from a coastguard helicopter from Lydd airfield.
The car, which was found underwater and on its roof, was too badly damaged to be immediately identified.
Earlier yesterday morning, a man’s body was found on the beach at Cow Gap, which was recovered with the help of the Eastbourne Inshore Lifeboat.
Details have been reported to HM Coroner for East Sussex, with police enquiries and forensic tests continuing to determine if the man and the car may have been linked.
